What's Eating Gibert Grape is a beautifully shot movie of tenderness, caring and self-awareness that is set amongst the fictional working class one street town Endora. Centred around the Grape family, Ellen and Amy and their two brothers Arnie and Gilbert, who, along with their morbidly obese widowed mother Bonnie Grape, are striving to survive and coexist with the absence of a father figure, low wage work and seventeen-year-old Arnie's severe mental condition. It is in this awkward and extremely one sided affair that the unfortunate Gilbert has to constantly, while working for the town's slowly dying convenience store, take care of his younger brother Arnie. Gilbert's life, his future, is thwarted and he knows this, but his love and bond for Arnie cannot, and will not, be let go. That is until the free spirit of Becky arrives in town, and with her grandmother are stranded for the week while waiting for parts for their vehicle. Questo penso sia il mio preferito in assoluto! in questo film se nn sbaglio Leonardo vinse un premio come m,iglior attore nn protagonista...nn è facile interpretare un ruolo del genere e lui l'ha fatto a quell'età e in un modo eccezionale!! Grande!!! . -

Ho visto questo film almeno 20 volte. L'ho trovato molto bello, la prima grande interpretazione di Leo. Non deve essere stato facile per lui recitare quella parte, anche se era aiutato da un apparecchio per distorcere la bocca. Anche Johnny Depp e Juliette Lewis li ho trovati bravissimi. . -

L'avrò visto centinaia di volte e non mi stancherò mai di guardarlo...Interpretazione stupenda sia di Leo che di Johnny...Nomination all'oscar...Non lo so questo film mi emoziona sempre! . -

Ovviamente ieri me lo son riguardata per benino l'ennesima volta, e mi sono annotata questa quote... è un piccolo dialogo tra Gilbert e la madre dopo la festa di Arnie... CITAZIONEM: Gilbert, sei un cavaliere con la corazza che abbaglia....

oddio bellssimo quel pezzo! del resto il film è pieno di momenti memorabili, come ad esempio quando la madre va alla polizia, o quando bruciano la casa...mi ha fatto davvero piacere rivederlo, perchè era tanto che non lo vedevo, leo in questo film è davvero strabiliante, soprattutto perchè era giovanissimo! naturalmente anche depp non è da meno! . -
